We encourage our patients to have a local family physician or internist to take care of other problems not related to the lungs.

Our physicians spend a great deal of time at the hospitals, and unavoidable delays are occasionally experienced because of emergencies. We will make every effort to contact you if a significant delay occurs on the day of your appointment. Should you find it necessary to cancel or change an appointment, please notify the office in advance.

We will call you the day before your appointment. If you do not receive a call, please phone us to confirm your appointment. If we are unable to reach you and do not hear from you, we must assume that you are not available for the appointment and may consider it cancelled.


Please advise the office of any change in your address. phone number, marital status, etc., that may have occurred since your last visit.

No-Show/Late Cancellation Policy

It is necessary for us to make appointments in order to see our patients as efficiently as possible. No-shows and late-cancellations cause problems that go beyond a financial impact on our practice. When an appointment is made, it takes an available time slot away from another patient. No-shows and late-cancellations delay the delivery of health care to other patients.

A "no-show" is missing a scheduled appointment. A "late cancellation" is canceling an appointment without calling us to cancel 24 hours in advance of an office visit.

We understand that situations such as medical emergencies occasionally arise when an appointment cannot be kept and adequate notice is not possible. These situations will be considered on a case by case basis.

A charge of $50.00 will be assessed for each no-show or late cancellation office visit appointment.

Please understand that insurance companies consider this charge to be entirely the patient's responsibility.

Night & Weekend Coverage

One of our physicians is always on call after office hours and on weekends. In an emergency, if you find it necessary to contact one of our doctors after normal office hours, the answering service will forward pertinent messages to the physician on call. Your call will be returned at the earliest opportunity.

Telephone Calls

All patients are encouraged to call with any questions they have. The office staff has been trained to answer many of your questions. They will relay your information to the doctor. Not all phone calls are returned by the doctor. Most are returned by the nurse with instructions from the doctor.

Fees & Policy of Payment

If you are not insured or are but have not yet met your deductible we ask that you pay a portion of your charges at the time of the visit. We will send you a descriptive statement of services given, payments made and balance due monthly. If you have any questions about the status of your bill, you can call our business office at 792-0611 between 10 am. - 4 p.m.


Our doctors are Medicare participating physicians and will accept assignment on these claims. WE DO REQUEST YOU PAY YOUR COPAY AT THE TIME OF SERVICE and we will file all other insurance claims for you. Please bring your insurance cards with you so we can scan them into your file. If you are insured through a private carrier, please be prepared to pay your portion at the time of the visit. If you are insured by a managed care insurance company, it is your responsibility to check with the office prior to your appointment to inquire it we participate in your particular insurance program and to obtain necessary referral forms.


Prescriptions and refills are issued during office hours only. During the evenings and weekends, it is difficult for the doctors to determine whether a prescription or refill is indicated when they do not have your medical record in front of them, This means that your doctor will NOT routinely write prescriptions or refills during the evenings or weekends. The best method of having a refill issued is to have your pharmacist call our office and give us your name, the purpose of the needed prescriptions and whether you have had a previous prescription from us. Narcotic prescriptions cannot be called into a pharmacy by law. Please let us know in advance, and a written prescription, if appropriate, can be mailed to you.
